Who We Are
🚂

Welcome to the Iron Horse Model Railroad Club

Founded in 1962 by a group of eight enthusiasts who shared a passion for precision scale modeling, the Iron Horse Model Railroad Club has grown into one of the region's premier model railroading organizations. With over 90 active members spanning beginners to master modelers, our club celebrates the rich heritage of American railroading in miniature.

Our club operates a permanent 24×40 foot HO layout depicting the mountain division of a fictional Class I railroad set in the 1950s, as well as modular N-scale and O-gauge layouts available for public exhibitions and club shows.

We welcome modelers of all experience levels and scales. Whether you're just getting started with your first locomotive or you're a seasoned scratch-builder, you'll find fellowship and expertise here.

Our Facilities

The club is headquartered at the Millbrook Community Center, 1147 Railroad Avenue, where we maintain:

  • A 24×40 ft permanent HO-scale layout with over 400 feet of mainline track
  • Dedicated workbench area with tools and spray booth
  • Reference library with over 600 volumes and historical prototype photos
  • Storage for the N-scale modular system (18 four-foot modules)
  • Meeting room with A/V for clinics and presentations
